It is during the holy month of Ramadan, that Muslims around the world observe the fast, when they abstain from consuming food, from dusk to sunset. Muslims can fast during the year on any day unless on the days of Eid. Fasting develops self-control, helps to overcome selfishness and other faults such as laziness. In fact the whole purpose of fasting, is to make a Muslim aware of commiting sins when fasting, and controlling his/her passions. Anger, also another common human weakness can be brought under control.
